Have you come across a Cheap Logo Design Ad?

If you have been using your social media accounts lately or been browsing in general, you must have come across ads displaying offers for cheap logo designs in the price range of $5 or $10. Some of the ads must have also claimed ‘receive your logo design with just 3 clicks’.

Whether these cheap logo design ads are genuine or are a part of a major scam, if your company is looking for logo solutions, you are more than likely to at least explore such options to assess what they have to offer in terms of design and final delivery. However, if you are a little inquisitive about the price and what the final design delivery will be like, it would be recommended to do some prior digging to judge whether the logo offers are too good to be true or not.

Just as what Uber did to the global taxi industry, similarly, Fiver, an online freelance platform is doing to the graphic design industry. The entire purpose of this platform is to connect the traffic to low cost suppliers which also includes graphic designing services. On this platform, a customer will come across multiple organic user profiles and paid ads offering cheap logo design services. Such business schemes have not only affected these two industries but there are other examples of such businesses and cheap ads including the doings of AirBNB to the hotel industry, the doings of Spotify to the music industry etc.

In an instance of an inquisitive competitor, Gary Richard, the Graphic Design Head at a leading graphic design agency decided to experiment with these cheap logo design ads. Gary was very curious as to what he will receive for paying $5 for a logo design. To carry out this experiment in a proper manner, he contacted three different designers and paid them $5 each for the logo.

To his surprise, he received the three logos on time and not a single logo from the three was original. Each logo was poorly cropped out of Photoshop with minor changes made to the design in order to meet the requirements provided initially. Upon delivery of the design, Gary was given 100% assurance from all three designers that the logos were legit and could be used for business purposes without receiving any copyright or trade claims in the future from original trademark holders.

Regardless of how attractive the ad for a cheap logo design may look or regardless of the amount mentioned within the ad, it would be advisable to not fall prey to such scams as it will only lead you in to creating a grave for your business and receiving numerous lawsuits on your door step.
